We can do revalidations and renewals for you either on our aircraft or on your own. Charges are all at the hourly dual rate of £165, or the instructor time charge of £39 per hour if you have your own aircraft. See below for a description of the validity of licenses and ratings, and what you need to do if your license has expired. If you have any questions (we know it can be a bit confusing) then just give us a call - we have an in house examiner who is on hand to help you out. But In short…
If you hold a JAR PPL SEP (L) rating you need to do the following within the 12 calendar months preceding the expiry date of the rating: 12 hours flight time which is to include the following…
- 6 hours as pilot in command
- 12 takeoffs and landings
- A training flight of at least one hour with a flying instructor
Once you have done this you need to sign a certificate of revalidation which is then signed by one of our examiners and sent off for you free of charge.
If the certificate of revalidation is signed with the three months prior to the expiry of the rating the validity will be calculated from the date of expiry of the preceding rating. Remember to allow plenty of time for the form to be signed and sent off to arrive before it expires to save any potential hold ups.
If you hold an NPPL SSEA Class rating your license has a 24 month validity period. Within this period you will need to do the following…
12 hours flight time including 8 hours in command
12 takeoffs and landings
1 hour training flight with an instructor.
Within the 12 months preceding the expiry date of the rating – fly a minimum of 6 hours.
Please note that the above may well change at any point, this is only our understanding of it, so don’t hold us responsible! We have lots of information for you to browse through in our pilots room - compiled by some of our trusty professionals.
