Bembridge Flyout 2009

On the slightly rainy morning of October 19th six aircraft and twelve excited people prepared for the flight to Bembridge on the Isle of Wight. By the time we got down to the coast it was a beautiful clear and sunny day, and despite the interesting crosswind on landing at Bembridge (20 knots with a crosswind component) we all landed safely without too much excitement!

After a cup of coffee we set off on a cross country walk across the fields to the centre of Bembridge town. After a quick paddle we settled down to a hearty pub lunch before starting the (slightly less enthusiastic) walk back to our aircraft. A little look at the charts and we decided our routes back - making the most of the blue skies and travelling over Sandbanks, Swanage, and the New Forest - before landing back at base for a cup of tea and a slice of cake to round off a brilliant day.
