Saturday 17th April was our first ever Microlight Open Day, and it was a fantastic event!
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, with blue skies and a light breeze – and unusually warm temperatures for April! Our instructors were on hand to chat to throughout the day, answering all your questions about learning to fly these lovely aircraft. Compton’s Microlighting residents were flying too, their aircraft proudly parked in front of the patio area, allowing the visitors a view into the friendly and ever increasing Microlight world. We took seventeen excited people for half hour trips in our club Microlights, allowing them to really get a taste for flying and even have a go at the controls themselves! All in all a really successful day, with many of the lucky seventeen catching the flying bug and joining the ever growing ranks of microlight pilots. We’re hoping this will be the first of many successful open days hosted at Compton Abbas!
