Bi-Plane Fly In 13th June 2010

Bi-Plane Fly In 13th June 2010   Another day of beautiful weather brought yet another day of the crowds flooding in to Compton in anticipation of lots of aircraft activity! The Bi-Plane fly in was focused around the Birthday of our resident Tiger Moth OILY, who turned 70!

Everyone who had ever flown the aircraft was invited up for some celebratory cake and some great pictures next to the Tiger. There was some formation flying with a group of bi-plane aircraft and a display by Clive Davidson in the Tiger Moth as well.

We had some lovely Tiger Moth’s visit on the day too which we parked just outside the viewing area for everyone to look admire. All Bi-Plane aircraft enjoyed free landings and pride of place parking too!

Our visitors from road and air tucked in to the 130 meals and 175 baguettes that we sold on the day, and although everyone enjoyed the ambience and the lovely sound of vintage aircraft, the weather could have been a bit kinder and unfortunately limited the amount of visitors who were planning on coming. Fingers crossed for next year to bring a bit more sun!
