Prices

Flying is not as expensive a hobby as you may think! Our prices reflect the fact that...

The fleet is well maintained and organised;
We have no conflict of interest as we own and operate the whole aerodrome;
As we are not in an area of controlled airspace; there are no delays in taking off or time wasted by clearing the airspace in order to carry out training;
As a family run business that has grown from strength to strength in the past 20 years, we are finacially very stable, and have no need to charge excessive amounts in order to cover start up or external costs.
We don't have any confusing payment systems. You pay as you go (as we realise that coming up with a lump sum isn't always easy), and you pay the same price whicever day of the week you want to fly.

Flying Training

For the fixed wing licence do most of our training in Piper Warriors, with the option of a Cessna 172 if that suits you better. With all the instruments you need (with no confusing extras) and a higher performance petrol variant, these forgiving trainers are the perfect aircraft in which to start your flying.

The training cost in a PA28 Warrior is just £165 per hour. This is all you pay - inclusive of fuel, landings, VAT and your instructor!

The training cost in a Cessna 172 is just slightly more at £170 per hour - and again inclusive of everything.

For the Microlights we have two different prices according to the aircraft that suits you best.

The Thruster T600N is £110 per hour, and the C42 Ikarus is just slightly more at £120 per hour. Again, these prices are inclusive of everything and there are no hidden extras.

See 'Learning to Fly at Compton' for further details.

Solo Hire

See here for more details on hiring an aircraft with us.

We have several PA28 Warriors on the airfield fleet. Prices are £132 per hour which is all inclusive. If you fly at least once every 28 days then you immediately recieve a discounted rate of £118.80 per hour.

If you would prefer to fly the Cessna 172 then the cost is £137 per hour, and just £123.30 if you stay within the 28 days.

We also have the option of a Grumman AA5 which is a great little touring aircraft and is avalible to take away for a couple of days. Prices start from a very reasonable £123.50 per hour.

The microlights are just £85 per hour solo for the Thruster (or £35 if you become a syndicate member) and £95 for the C42 Ikarus.

If you would like to take one or more passengers with you on your flight then we only charge £4 per person per day.
